Solar SCADA & PPC Solutions for PV Plant Monitoring & Control
We provide advanced, integrated Solar SCADA, Central Monitoring System and Power Plant Controller (PPC) solutions for utility-scale Solar PV plants.
Our solutions enable real-time plant monitoring, centralized control, performance visibility and secure communication with grid operators -helping solar plant owners, developers, EPCs and O&M teams operate their assets efficiently and reliably.
Utility-scale Solar PV plants consist of multiple systems including inverters, string monitoring equipment, meters, weather stations, breakers, and protection systems. Monitoring these systems through a common platform provides operators with better visibility of plant operation and enables centralized management of alarms, events, data, and control functions.
Our Solar PV monitoring and control solutions are built around SolaMon Solar SCADA and SolCon Power Plant Controller, with deployment architectures that can be configured according to the plant's size, configuration and operational requirements.
SolaMon – Solar SCADA
Advanced Monitoring & Control Platform for Solar PV Plants
SolaMon is a scalable software platform for monitoring and control of Solar PV power plants. It brings plant information into a centralized interface, enabling operators to view real-time plant status, alarms and events, dashboards, reports and historical data.
The platform supports monitoring from string and inverter levels through plant level, along with Single Line Diagrams and data visualization. SolaMon also provides secure communication with the grid operator and supports integration with plant equipment and external systems through Modbus, IEC 60870-5-101/104, IEC 61850, DNP3, MQTT and REST API.
Key capabilities include
Real-time monitoring and control
String-level and inverter-level monitoring
Dashboards and data visualization
Alarms and events
Real-time and historical data analysis
Web browser and mobile access
Open architecture
Cybersecurity features
SolaMon Deployment Architectures
SolaMon can be deployed using different architectures depending on the size, configuration and operational requirements of the Solar PV plant.
Standalone Architecture
Distributed Architecture
Cloud-Based Central Monitoring
Plant-Level Monitoring & Control
The standalone architecture provides a centralized monitoring and control system for an individual Solar PV plant. Field equipment such as weather stations, SMBs, inverters, meters and breakers can be integrated into SolaMon to provide operators with a common view of plant operation.
The system provides Single Line Diagrams, dashboards, reports, alarms and events, together with real-time and historical data analysis. It also supports secure communication with the grid operator and integration through multiple industrial communication protocols.
Scalable Architecture for Large Solar PV Plants
For larger Solar PV plants, SolaMon can be deployed using a modular and scalable distributed architecture that separates application, database and communication functions. The architecture can incorporate fault-tolerant options and redundant application and communication infrastructure, while supporting centralized monitoring and control, including string-level and inverter-level monitoring. It provides secure communication with the grid operator and access to real-time and historical plant data through dashboards, reports, alarms and events.
Centralized Visibility Across Distributed Solar PV Plants
For organizations managing multiple geographically distributed Solar PV plants, SolaMon can be deployed as a cloud-based platform to provide centralized visibility across the plant portfolio. Plant owners, developers, ESCOs and O&M teams can access an overview of their sites, locate plants through a geo-map, monitor plant status, and review generation and performance information from a common platform.
The platform also provides alarm and event summaries, generation and performance reports, revenue and savings reports, and access through mobile, tablet or laptop. It supports secure communication and integration with other software systems, making it suitable for monitoring remote and distributed Solar PV assets.
SolCon – Power Plant Controller (PPC)
Coordinated Control for Grid-Connected Solar PV Plants
SolCon is a Power Plant Controller designed to manage key Solar PV plant control functions. It coordinates plant output based on defined setpoints and supports control functions including active power, reactive power, voltage, power factor, ramp rate and frequency regulation.
Active and reactive power can be controlled to specified setpoints, while voltage and power factor can be regulated at the required point. Ramp-rate control limits the rate of change of active and reactive power, and frequency regulation adjusts active power to support the required operating condition.
Key capabilities include
Active Power Control
Reactive Power Control
Voltage Control
Power Factor Control
Ramp Rate Control
Frequency Regulation
Solen Series SMBs & SCBs
String Monitoring & String Combining
The Solen Series provides plug-and-play String Monitoring Box and String Combiner Box solutions for central-inverter-based Solar PV plants. The solution combines string connection, protection and monitoring functions and supports different channel configurations and 1000 VDC / 1500 VDC variants.
The SMBs/SCBs can monitor string current, system voltage, board temperature, DC breaker status and SPD status, with communication through RS485, fibre optic or wireless interfaces using Modbus RTU.
Whether you are developing a new Solar PV plant or upgrading an existing monitoring and control system, Consyst can help you design and implement an architecture aligned with your plant and operational requirements.
