Scope
Design, supply, installation and commission of a remote data acquisition system for a gas skid.
Background
Badeal is a company based in the United Arab Emirates that provides customized CNG supply-chain solutions which include a 24/7 supply of CNG, design and manufacture of pressure reduction and meter skids.
Badeal had a requirement to ensure the proper operation of gas skids they supplied and installed at various customer locations in the United Arab Emirates.
System Description
Gas skids were supplied to various end customers at different locations throughout UAE. Every skid supplied were automated with different makes and models of PLC and HMI. CONSYST provided a Data Acquisition System (DAS) which could communicate with the current PLC and acquire the required data from the system. The DAS is connected to the Internet using either WAN, Wi-Fi or GSM. The remote stations are connected to a central station using the Internet over Virtual Private Network (VPN).
The central station is equipped with a VPN server capable of handling 200 remote connections and Data Visualization Software capable of monitoring the real time and historical data of all remote stations.
The software can visualize the real time status, alarms and operations od all remote sites. The software also archives the data to a SQL database. It can also analyse the historical data using trends.
Through this project, Badeal was able to ensure the proper operation of gas skids at remote customer locations and to schedule the delivery of gas through analysis of the consumption data from the central station.
